Pinterest teacher gift

It's teacher appreciation week and boy do we appreciate our teachers!  So thankful that my boys have such wonderful people to help shape their lives.  I of course wanted to do something for them but wasn't sure what.  After browsing pinterest I found a few fun things to make.  One of which is a take out chinese food gift box filled with fortune cookies that says, So FORTUNE-ate to have you as a teacher.  We delivered them yesterday and they were a hit.

Happy Friday!

Falling off the wagon

I have seriously fallen off the getting in shape wagon this week.  I don't know whats come over me.  I mean, I realize that I'll have to wear a swimsuit infront of everyone at the pool in like 3 weeks, and yet I still eat like I'm 10 and have a great metabolism.  I have such a sweet tooth and am a total foodie, so giving up the good stuff (cupcakes, milkshakes, wings, etc...)  for the really good (healthy) is just hard.  I suppose it would be easier if I had more time to really think about what I should eat for the week and then actually prepare healthy food instead of eating out.  Ain't nobody got time for that.

KFC chocolate chip cookies
-these are like crack

Alright...  starting tomorrow, I'm jumping right back on that wagon.

I have in the past taped swimsuit catalog pictures all over my house, especially on the inside of the cabinet doors and in the fridge.  That way when I go to grab junk food I'm reminded of what I really want.  And, A enjoyed the pictures too!

Maybe I'll have to try that again.

Wish me luck!!!

Mother's day is around the corner...

Mother's Day is just around the corner.  I figured I'd do a post to drop some hints specifically state, what I would like.  I have been a huge fan of Michelle Armas for a while now and I have wanted one of her paintings ( any one) since I first laid eyes on them.  She currently has a sale going on for Mother's Day and while I won't ask for a real canvas painting, a print sure would make this girl happy.  I am curating things for my gallery wall and a Michelle Armas print would be perfect.

Here are a few of the paintings I love.

If you hop over to her site, you can get 15% off in honor of Mother's Day.

The prints are really reasonable.  I think the Pamela print I want is around $35.  I think it would look spectacular as part of my gallery wall.

The new jcp

Have you been to JC Penney lately?  I recently checked it out after seeing their fun colorful circulars in the paper.  My has it changed.  They have really stepped up their game.  I bought like 5 shirts and several necklaces and have had nothing but compliments.  I'm all like, it's JCP.  You must go see for yourself.  Not only do they have fun clothes, jewlery, and handbags, etc...  They also have a home decor line by Jonathan Adler called Happy Chic.  I took some pictures the other day and I just have to share.

What do you think?  Nice, right.  And like a fraction of the things on his website.  Who doesn't love Greek Key or a navy zig zag print poof.

And look what else I found.  A whole Pantone line.

 Ombre!

Not the JCP you used to know.

Still loving Sunburst

I know the sunburst mirror has been on the scene for awhile now, but I'm still loving it.  There's just something about it that's timeless.  If you've ever priced them you know they aren't cheap.  I searched and searched for the one I have hanging over my fireplace until I randomly stumbled uopn it one day.

They didn't even have anymore out, I just mentioned to the lady what I had been looking for and she said, I think we have one in a box in the back that just came in  Would you like to see it?  Uh, YES!  She brought it out, and slid it up out of the box and I knew I was buying it.  Didn't hurt that it was only $149.  That was the best price I had seen so far, until the other day...

Here's a new sunburst mirror from Horchow

Golden Sunburst Mirror
It's cost?  $395

Now, here's the steal...

Martha Stewart Living Wales 30 in. x 30 in. Metal Antique Gold Framed Mirror

This one's a little different but very similar.  Where's it from you ask?  Would you believe it's a Martha Stewart sunburst mirror from Home Depot?  I didn't either.  In fact, it is!  And it's only $34.97.  As soon as I saw it online, I went straight to Home Depot and bought 2.  Where are they gonna go?  I have no idea but for that price, who cares.  They really do look spectacular.  They are pretty light weight but no one will ever know that when it's hanging on your wall.  It even has a convex mirror.  What a steal!!!

I'll leave you with some sunburst eye candy from Tobi Fairley
