Lovely outdoor seating

I just got the new Frontgate catalog the other day and wanted to do a post on their outdoor furniture, so I guess today's the day.  What really caught my eye other than the beautiful coral color, was the piping.  Love. Piping.   I can't afford any of it but it's fun to look and you never know when you might come across a great deal on a set similar to these.  Talk about inspiration.  You could design a whole room (indoor or out) around these colors and styles.

I think this one is my favorite.  You had me at coral with white piping, funky umbrella and gorgeous pool.

Here are a few others that caught my eye.

Did you see that bamboo lantern???

It also comes in red, which would look great with this blue set.

And here's a show stopper from Horchow.  I love the beautiful colors of the sets above, but it's hard to beat the understated elegance of black and white.  Actually, I don't think anything is understated here.  Just Gorgeous!!!

Malm dressers

I recently bought 2 Malm dressers from Ikea to fit in the nooks on both sides of the fireplace.  I knew I wanted them forever but just couldn't bare the thought of spending all that time to put them together, especially with those crazy Ikea instructions (or lack there of).  I finally bit the bullet and bought them a couple of weeks ago, and actually put them BOTH together within a day of having them delivered.  Big accomlishment for me considering I have a Malm 4 drawer chest that's been sitting in the same box it came in for the past 9 months in my bedroom.  I have to say it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.  But I was dreading it after I first opened the box and saw this...

I sorted everything into like piles and gave it my best shot.

This is what it looked like after an hour.  Not too bad, but I still needed to assemble the drawers.  They weren't hard, just time consuming.  It took 2 hours times 2!

I measured the opening and it was 65 inches and the dressers were 63, so no problem, right.  I didn't even think about the shoe molding at the bottom of each side of the opening.  My heart sank.  After all that work.... I was determined to make it fit.  I had to slide them in exactly straight and they made it with no extra room.  None.  Well, they're both in there new homes and I am still thinking about my black stripes.  Of course they aren't styled like that anymore.  The mirror is somewhere else, and the lamps have been moved.  Really thinking about a gallery frame wall above these.

I also purchased an Ikea Ektorp sofa and Strandmon chairs, but I'll save that for another day.

More stripes...

Ok, so I already have horizontal stripes in the playroom, kitchen and half bathroom, but I really want more.  I know, I know, I'm obessesd.
I posted this picture a while ago and I was looking at it again last night and I just can't shake it.

I absolutely love the bold black and white stripes.

I already have a black and white color scheme going on so it would work.  The problem is where I want to paint the stripes.  We have a recessed area on each side of our fireplace where I recently put Ikea MALM dressers.  I would love to do the black and white in those areas above the dressers and do gallery frames like the inspiration picture.  Here's my dilema.  The wall above the fireplace (which would be in the middle of the 2 spaces in question) are beige and white chevron, and I like it.  I know chevron is over but it looks so good with my sunburst mirror.  So, if I do the black and white horizontal walls, I think I need to say bu-bye to my chevron wall. I'm not sure if I can...

So, the brainstorming continues... Maybe I can find another place for the stripes.

A tisket a tasket, I love a good basket

It's Friday!  I went to TJMaxx on my lunch break today and spotted some really cute baskets.  Of course the "dipped" paint look is everywhere these days, like

here...

here...

and here...

I do like the trend and it seems like a pretty easy one to copy on just about anything.  But what's better than that is finding it for practically nothing.

I found these fun baskets at TJ Maxx today.

And, this one's not dipped but it was so cute.

Check out that super cute tray looking basket right there.  It was all I could do to restrain myself from buying them all.  In fact, I left with nothing.  So sad trying to live within my means.

Anyway, hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend!

It's a chiang mai dragon bathing suit!!!

I was wandering around Dillard's the other day and something caught my eye.  I was like, hold up...is that a chiang mai dragon bathing suit.  And then I was like, oh snap, it is!  It's not acutally a schumacher chaing mai dragon suit but the fabric is incredibly similar.  So much in fact, I wonder if there were any copyright issues.  Maybe they don't know.  Anyway, take a look for your self.

Here is my all time favorite, Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon print

And here is the amazingly similar bathing suit

The only thing missing from the suit is the dragon.  But it's still cool.
Wonder if I wore this to the pool this Summer, if anyone would be all like, hey, that's chiang mai dragon!

It's been awhile.  Lots going on around here but I have been seeing so many things and I have so many ideas to pass along, so I'm back.
