The end of Summer....

We are heading down to the beach for one last long weekend before Summer is officially over.  I am looking forward to watching my two sweet little ones frolick in the ocean and then run back and forth to the pool.  Mini golf, ice cream, eating out...  should be a good time.  I'll be back next week with all the fun details and pictures.

Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day!!!

Custom Drapery Panels

After buying drapery panels for our living room twice in five years and taking them down ultimately to have bare windows, I am thinking about putting panels back up.  I just can't make up my mind which fabric to pick.  I know I want modern and fun.  I am just afraid that I won't like it after I've had them hanging for a while and I'll be out more money on drapes.  This is the reason I still haven't wallpapered my half bath.  I can't commit. Here are a few fabric choices I'm thinking about...

Waverly One Wish Mint Julep

Waverly One Wish BlackBird

Premier Prints Dandi Dot Black/White
Dandi Dot Black and White

Okay, my living room has a lot of black and white and I'm leaning towards something black and white because if I decide to change the color scheme in the room it will still go.  I really like the dots and I think that's my first choice.  It's just fun.  I also like the waverly fabrics.  They're both about the same price and I can get them made from an Etsy shop.  Well, if the lady will email me back with the info on the dots fabric I could.  Which makes me think I don't want to submit an order if my business isn't important enough for her to email me back.  While the shop owner that has the waverly fabric was Johnny on the spot.  I like that.  Is that a sign?

Anyway,  do you like any of these?  Which would you pick?

lantern for less

I mentioned the beautiful lantern that I want from Urban Electric Company the other day and how I will probably never have it because of it's price tag.  But low and behold I walked into my sister in laws house last Saturday and she had an amazing lantern hanging in her kitchen.  At first glance I thought it might be from Urban Electric since they do have various styles.  I was a little jealous.  I asked her where she got it and she said...Pottery Barn.  No way!  Apparently I haven't looked at their lighting in a while.  So of course the first thing I do when I go home is hop on the Pottery Barn website and check out this lantern.  I just knew it was going to be crazy expensive.  But to my surprise, it's only $399.00.  What a steal compared to my dream lantern that sells for $3,070.00 and so stylish too!

It looks great in the picture but even better in person.  So now I am wondering if I should bite the bullet and just go for it.

Have you seen any great lanterns lately?

In love with a lantern

I have commented before on how my taste is way over my budget and this is no exception.  Why must I be head over heels in love with a lantern that I can't have unless I win the lottery.  Maybe once the kids are out of daycare...  No.  I still can't justify spending...are you ready... $3,070.00 on one hanging lantern.

Well, do you want to see it?

Don't you just love it?  I don't  have to have the light blue color, although it is beautiful.  I would be happy with it in any color.  Are you listening lantern fairy?

Chisholm Hall Lantern by Urban Electric Company

This is the Chisholm Hall Lantern by Urban Electric Company in Charleston and it comes in a ton of colors if you're interested in buying it for your home.  I have had my eye on it for a long time and finally figured out who makes it after I saw it on the Fificheek blog.  So glad I finally know where to buy it even if I can't afford it.  I'll definitely be putting this on my inspiration board.

Stripey Stripes

It's absolutely no secret that I love horizontal stripe walls.  I currently have 2 rooms in my house now that have horizontal stripes and am seriously considering painting them in my boys  room.  I just love the look.  Classic, graphic, clean and yet modern.  LOVE.
